Bio
5am and the low humming of hard drives can still be heard through the small room where Sebastien clicks away on his mouse trying to tinker some back vocals on an almost finished track. The bright glow of a MacBook’s LCD is the only light on and still the clock ticks away passed five thirty in the morn’. The headphones are on tight and the music is loud as if to hear every minuscule detail of every single track. Sebastien manages to save the project before his face falls flat on the keyboard and awaits for a brand new day. Born in 1977, Sebastien Gomez starts his life in Canada just months before turning three. Located in Quebec city, one of the oldest french communities in North America, he attends school in the old province till he decides one morning to head west. Vancouver bound, Sebastien drives across the United States before settling in British Columbia in 1999. The peacefulness of sitting on a dock watching the sunset on the pacific probably is one the main reasons Sebastien started writing songs. That and also loneliness. The first 30 songs were melancholic, depressing and lacked a certain pop acoustic feel to them, so he went over them and tried to understand what was missing. Sebastien has been surrounded by music since his early days..... great music for that matter: The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Paul Mc Cartney, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel, Bryan Adams, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton and Michael Jackson. To that list were added more recently John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Amos Lee, Coldplay, Teitur, Dave Mathews Band, Damien Rice, Ryan Adams, U2 and Bonnie Rait to name a few. Equipped with that kind of melodic baggage, Sebastien tried to understand the backbone of what made a great sounding song. Catchy hooks, powerful chorus and vibrant lyrics were what struck him as being what an artist should strive for. Returning to Quebec in 2005, Sebastien started performing, along with his brother Thierry, in different venues to hone his vocal skills and get a feel of what an audience can bring to the music. Now months before his thirtieth birthday, Sebastien has a last chance to make something worthwhile with the music he loves and the songs he wants to share. Cutting his first ever EP “Last Chance”, Sebastien Gomez is going on full promotion mode and has released the 4 track CD at various online stores. iTunes Canada, Japan and USA, as well as Napster and Sony Connect are carrying the tracks.
