Escencha Groove The word ‘Escencha’ is taken from the word Essential. ‘Groove’ is music, melody. An established routine or habit. Essential – Adjective Meaning: Absolutely necessary: extremely important Origin: Middle English (in the sense’ in the highest degree’) from late Latin essentialis. Essentia (see essence) Essence - Noun Meaning: The intrinsic nature or indispensible quality of something, especially something abstract, which determines its character. ‘of the essence’ - Fundamentally of Critically importance. Songwriter/vocalist/Producer - London UK I am not going to say that I started singing when I was any particular age… because I never really started to sing……. I am a song writer first and a vocalist second. I am a producer of some sorts, keeping in mind that my only qualification musically, is a beginners Logic Pro course. Normally I would say that I don’t really have a musical background; just a passion to create meaningful music, but actually, music is my first love. It gives me the opportunity to express myself through melody, combined with lyrics that compliment and give life to the track. I appreciate most genres, Soul, Swing, Rock, Pop, RnB, Hip Hop, Funk, Jazz, and Dub Step, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s. The Calling A career is something you choose…. A calling is something you receive. I started to write what I call Life Soul songs about 9 years ago. Life Soul – A memoir on a learned subject – that subject being my life and the journey so far, depicting an emotional or intellectual energy or intensity, especially as revealed in a work of art or an artistic performance. The lyrical content of all of my songs depict (portray in words, describe) some of my life experiences on this journey that we call life. Ask me who my influences are with regards to my style? The first thing that always springs to mind is that the style is all my own, and the ideas/ message for each song have been influenced by answered prayer, life experience and hearing his voice. Throughout life a child consults its mother or father about issues they are experiencing, seeking advice, direction and wisdom from a more experienced head, I believe that the Lord answers sincere prayers, and in response to some of my concerns/ prayers (through his grace), he has responded in a way that I can portray through song and in turn, I have gained a better understanding about myself and who I am as individual entity. I believe that we born for a reason, in that particular year, at that particular time, in that particular place/ country. Every creation has its purpose, whether it is programmed or to be discovered. Life is a journey of discovery about self and the purpose for one’s life. With comprehension, comes understanding and then the journey begins. So now, you have had a brief insight into Escencha Groove, I hope you enjoy listening to my demo tracks, which were all produced in my humble garden shed. The tracks are raw and have not been mixed or mastered. I hope that by hearing my songs and listening to the lyrics, you, the listener, will identify with the message and be able to relate to what each song aims to convey. The grooves are essential……….
