Coming from a singing church family Von Demetriz started singing as a little girl in the choir. Von D began to capture audiences by leading songs with the choir while performing for church events. By the age of 19 Von D began to write her own songs and by age 20 had completed the song “Dream Lover.” Von D is noted for the growing roots established with the band “Ill Connex,” that she was an active and leading member of for 7 years. The experience with “Ill Connex” taught Von D the organization of a live band as well as started the grooming process to become the infamous Fayetteville, NC artist that Von D is noted for. Ill Connex brought flavor and originality to the scene. The fan base began to describe, relate, and compare Von D to the world renown Mary J Blige, mixed with a little Erykah Badu and Jill Scott and touched with a hint of Lauryn Hill’s flavor. R&B and Neo Soul music has always been Von D’s passion. Von D feels as if the world is waiting on Ms. Von Demetriz because she is real about her’s! Von Demetriz adamantly writes about: love and pain, what feels good and what’s hate! These are all everyday issues that all masses of people can relate too
