Bio
My Cousin Graham is a Winnipeg band that writes darker music on subjects of political and social importance. Their first release was the dark and haunting, The Basement. Written to support a friend of the band, R.B., who was abused in his own house by a male who rented a basement room. R.B.s parents ignored the signs of abuse and did nothing to stop it. R.B. has written a book about the abuse that is being released in 2013 called One Piece of a Life. Lyrics - The Basement It’s not the place, it’s not the space Hidden deep in my mind, without a trace. A child’s hand, can’t take a stand The parent’s oath sworn only to the finger’s band Invited in, behind a grin Down to the room The horror begins Why Can’t you hear me I’m here in the basement Deaf to my hollow pleas I’m here in the basement The clock it ticks, for One in six, The broken souls that can’t be fixed Try and forget, an unpaid debt For memories I never met His frozen skin, releases sin Down to the room The horror begins Why can’t you hear me I’m here in the basement Death to my hollow pleas I’m here in the basement I’m here in the basement
