WILWANA (nothing mysterious…just a contraction of his full name, William Anwana) grew up enamoured with the sound of music (no, not the movie but it is a childhood favourite), a desire to sing, and a raw ability to arrange sounds together. Listening to diverse music from different eras and in different styles left a distinctively eclectic taste in his mouth in addition to a love for vocal harmony. In Gospel he found his calling and creates music with the vision of drawing everyone to recognize that we are all created to Glorify God. How would he classify his brand of Gospel music? “To me, the essence of Gospel music is in the message and the song is the vehicle. So if it takes a hip-hop beat, a rock riff, a Caribbean flava or a soulful flow to pass the message across…then so be it”.[/color]And that’s that about that.
