Bio
www.armstrongrock.com Instead of writing songs in a room together like a normal band, brothers Jay and Harry Armstrong spent weeks emailing various ideas back and forth across the internet from Hong Kong to their fellow bandmates Tim Talbot, John Atkins and Sam George thousands of miles away in the UK. During a fan-voted competition on award-winning social networking website Slice The Pie, the band stood out from hundreds of other artists, utilised their solid fan base and in turn bypassed the need to commit to a label by winning £15,000 worth of funding. This resulted in their debut album 'Light Up The Night' produced by Matt Peel (Kaiser Chiefs, Pigeon Detectives and The Sunshine Underground) which is loaded with punchy, upbeat, memorable anthems. 'Light Up The Night' is the culmination of four years hard work, touring excessively up and down the UK, and writing daily. The 12 songs included were chosen from a back catalogue of nearly 30 tracks which extensively document the bands experiences, trials and tribulations since their emergence in 2005. With leading songs such as 'Sirens', 'Start This Over' and 'Can't Go Back' it's hardly surprising Kerrang! magazine described the band as "A tornado of infectious pop-rock melodies". The album has also demanded interest from fellow musos Hadouken! who have taken the album under their wing, releasing it on their label Surface Noise Recordings. This album guarantees to be one of the hottest pop-rock records of 2010, sitting perfectly along side works by Paramore, Lost Prophets, Youmeatsix and Elliot Minor. With only 500 limited edition copies available it is sure to sell out rapidly. Don't be disappointed; get yours now! www.armstrongrock.com
