Bio
This is the funk fuelled rock sound of Kubla Khan. The band have developed into a blend of Groove Rock that powers crowds of live music lovers, engaging with audiences and luring them in at every venue they perform at. Formed in London 2008 by a body of musicians, The Khan sound takes influence from the likes of RHCP & Rage to James Brown & Tower of Power. The band started out by playing some of the top venues London has to offer including The Astoria, The Clapham Grand, Café De Paris and more recently headlining @ IndigO2, where hundreds of people rushed the gates to get their hands on the 5-track self-titled debut EP. Since then they have been joined by new frontman Matt Heanes, a prolific artist originally from the North East, making the move down to the Capital bringing his unique voice, a blend of rock/soul and a hint of Motown to the band. Picked out from over 30,000 artists from the UK. The Guys joined 45 other premier acts to feature on the Orange Unsigned Act 2008, aired weekly on primetime T4 and Channel 4 where they performed to sell out crowds and picked up a hoard of new young fans. Kubla Khan joined the Raison D’Etre Music Collective in late 2008 (“The London Clubbing phenomenon” - Time Out) and are currently looking for representation to take them into the new year…
