"Where have you been?" Tim Hoover is often asked when he cycles back into his solo singing career with his sincere, jazz-nuanced stylings from the Great American Songbook. Tim has devoted much of his life to music singing solos in church in his youth, traveling the world in his 20's with the gospel big band and Light recording artists, Living Sound, and singing with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. Numerous recording projects earned him membership in the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, yet this latest recording, Street of Dreams, is his first all-solo project. On this album, a collaboration with Steinway Artist, Larry Dalton, and Indianapolis jazz legend, Ken Fary, Tim definitively interprets songs that range from an Abbott & Constello movie tune, to one from a Broadway musical; from a tapdance ditty gone adagio, to a Glenn Miller medley that verges on bop; from American hymnody, to the Beatles. Of Street of Dreams, Chuck Workman, producer/host of "Saturday Evening Jazz Show" on 88.7 in Indianapolis says: "You really hit it with this thing, man! The arrangements -- the feel -- you --you're on top of it: a welcome sound in town." Born in South Carolina and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Tim Hoover is a graduate in music and psychology from Oral Roberts University and has a Master's Degree in pastoral counseling and psychology from Ashland University Theological Seminary. He has performed with artists as diverse as Cliff Richard, Robert Shaw, Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, and Little Richard. Tim's creative inspirations include his father, Word recording artist, Herb Hoover; Singers Unlimited, Peter Nero, Tony Bennett, Nancy LaMott, Kenny Rankin and Ella Fitzgerald.
