Bio

My first musical experience was singing in church with my two brothers. I later joined the Youth Choir at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Madison, IL. I took piano lessons, briefly, from my younger cousins who both played in the same church. In junior high school I took up trombone, joined the school band and got sick of playing marching music fairly quickly. I pretty much left music behind until I met my mentor LaGone Harper. He pretty much put a bass in my hands and threw me up on stage to sink or swim. I've played with 5oclock shado for about 15 years. LaGone and I hooked up with Derrick Starks and Marc Cooper from Cool Play and started writing. The Combined band playing under both names signed with Liquid Records and started working on demos at Island Recorder with engineer Kevon Smith. Marc and I formed a songwriting team and began to write and produce music for both bands as well as several other local artists including Tamieka Dixon, granddaughter of blues legend Willie Dixon. I love working with diverse artists and wrote and played bass for Bionic a talented hiphop production crew from Hammond featuring Eye-Q. My samples cover music I've written and produced with the various artists I've been working with lately. Many are demos in various stages of production. I'm interested in getting my music into TV and films and forming a production team to write, produce and play for as support band. Wendell[b][/b]
