[color="violet"][color="indigo"][color="indigo"]Cayce was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, in 1993, and after her first experience on a stage in a school concert, she decided that the stage was where she wanted to be. She draws her inspiration from artists like Shakira, Elvis, Cher, Celine Dion, Faith Hill and Shania Twain. Although Cayce is not a songwriter as such, she compensates with her spectacularly versatile voice. She enjoys singing songs from different genres of music and is always open to new ideas. At the age of 9, Cayce was invited to perform regularly as a guest artist at various local Country dances, and in 2003 she was accepted as a member of the EP Children's Choir under directorship of Lionel Van Zyl, Head Voice lecturer in Music Department at University of Port Elizabeth.She sang with the choir for 2 years. In 2004(age 11) Cayce entered 2 singing competitions, namely the Yamaha Young Talent, where she made it to the semi-finals, and the Barney's Grill Competition, where she was awarded 1st place. Later in 2004, Cayce's devotion to her music led her to hold a 2hour solo concert in her school hall to raise funds for the recording of her first CD. In 2005, after singing at various venues to raise funds to record, she approached a local recording studio and realised her dream to record her first CD. In June 2005, Cayce 'launched' her CD, The Beginning, a compilation of some of her favourite cover songs - she was 12 years old. Later in the year, Cayce entered the Bay FM/Jip singing contest and won 1st prize in the 12 - 14yr category. She then also performed as guest artist at a local "Idols" concert and at a Charity Luncheon held in aid of the PE Cancer Association. In 2006 (age 13) Cayce did a 3hr Valentine Day Gig at a local Restaurant, singing favourite love songs to the dinner guests. She also entered a National Singing competition, Supersterre 2, and made it to the semi finals. In the KTV Talent show later in the year, Cayce was awarded 2nd place. Cayce has always been happy to sing at charity events, and in 2006, performed at a Save A Pet fundraiser, The Makro Cycle Tour and did two performances at the Seesig Old folks Lunches. At the end of 2006, Cayce played a leading role in her school's production of the musical, 'Live it Up' In 2007 (age 14) Cayce was awarded a Gold Certificate for Vocal Ability in the Afrikaans Music Festival, as well as Gold at the Speech and Drama Festival held by the College of Speech and Drama. She continued working by participating in the production of "A Change of Mind", produced by Linda-Louise Swain of Rother-Swain Drama Studio. This was followed by another KTV Talent Competition where Cayce achieved first place. After performing at various reunion events and gala evenings, Cayce was the youngest recipient of the Half-Colours award in music at Victoria Park High School. In 2008, Cayce was cast as a lead in Barry Manilow's musical, 'Copacabana', and received great reviews for her performance. She continues to perform at various functions, including weddings, birthdays, open markets and special events. In April Cayce recorded her second CD, 'About Love', a compilation of well known and well loved songs, and has had success selling CD's wherever she performs live. In June 2008, Cayce entered The Star Search Competition hosted by Victoria Park High School and open to all high school learners in the Eastern Cape. She achieved first place in the Junior Category and was awarded the prize for Overall Winner of the Competition. She also won 1st place in the BAY FM Spring Singing Competition later in the year in the 15 - 18yr age category. In September 2008, Cayce appeared as a guest artist for South African Country Music Legend, Jody Wayne, at a concert he held in Port Elizabeth. Most recently, Cayce was awarded Gold in both the Duet and Solo categories of the Music Eistedford, and has received Colours Scrolls for Achievement in Music and Service to Drama.
