Singer Songwriter Kneale Browns earliest memory of music was that of sitting on a polystyrene car seat in the back of his dads Vauxhall Astra with Cindy Lauper playing on the radio……..and yes his dad was driving. Although this is not your iconic rock and roll upbringing it is as about as rock and roll a South Shields boy can hope for, especially in the 80’s. Over the last 2 years Kneale has been taking the indie route, producing and recording his own material by begging, stealing and borrowing studio time whenever it has been available, adding a unique sound and texture to his mix of acoustic pop. Currently studying a music technology degree at Birmingham conservatoire Kneale names underground indie act Get cape Wear Cape fly, local band Jen Stevens and the Hiccups and Jimmy Nail as his biggest influences, sometimes likened to the sound of Damien rice Kneales songs are based around laid back acoustic patterns, thick harmonies and what he likes to call a ‘slightly naughty’ vocal sound, all of this amounts to chilled out tracks that bring heavy emphasis on simplicity and memorable melodies.
