The Journey of {The} "Free Keys" began in 1998, when two 13-years-old guys called Arash (Drummer) and Puya (Guitarist/Vocals) formed a music band named "Zartosht". "Zartosht", being a temporary exploratory band survived for about 4 years and became some sort of a stepping stone for them. During that time they were composing music in a room in Puya's house basement which later called "Otagh Tamrin". Finally, they decided to form an international band, and the first step was to find a suitable name. "Free Keys", a name which came out of Arash's dreams, was chosen after a while. Arya (Bassist) joined them and they were going on in "Otagh Tamrin" when the second miracle happened. Puya's family abandoned the house due the damage done to it during some excavation in the neighborhood, and it became a property of "Free Keys". The band decided to make the most out of this opportunity and made a stage with the least possible. Only a week before the date of their first gig on their self-made stage, Another underground gig got interrupted by the police and the performers got arrested for playing "Satanic" music (But that's how the government tags banned western music whenever an underground band gets arrested). The Band decided to take the risk and throw the gig anyway. Alongside "Yellow Dogs", the very best Indie Rock band ever, they threw a succesful gig. It was one of the best underground acts Iran has ever seen. The Band has succesfuly recorded 3 songs and has lots of unrecorded material at the moment. This summer, the band will throw some gigs in the UK (the problem right now is some visa formalities) and luckily find a decent label!
