Bio
Hi, my name is Ken and I was born in London's East End. I lived in the area of Bow for 20 years before settling in the Barking and Dagenham borough. I am married with four grown up children. My start in music came when I met with the great keyboard player Roger Laverne of the Tornado's. I spent many happy times recording with him and became one of his session musicians at his studio's in Leytonstone, East London called Jacrylin Recording Studio's. My favoured instrument was keyboards but I also played bass. The music at Jacrylin Studio's was recorded for E.M.I & DECCA. I was playing keyboards on the Pub circuit from 14 years old and had to be accompanied by my parents because of my age. I met Roger Laverne when I was 16 and majority of my session work was on bass. These days I play only as a hobby and concentrate on creating melodies on my keyboard. My first song "All on Board" was written in the 60's when guitar melodies were at a peak. That particular song is still my favourite and like the many I have written or composed since I have never referred any for publication purposes. My music, I feel, is not everybody's taste. I have no particular preference in styles of music, I like ALL music. Of course, it makes me happy when people do like my music, but I am more than prepared to accept criticism however severe and I really do pay attention to any critique put forward without any offence whatsoever being taken. I respect and appreciate all views, all artists and all writers and wish all of you the very best of luck and success. With respect, Ken Newman.
