Check out three songs I uploaded in 2011 from the Aurora CD. One Way Out, Nut House, River Song. Blues fans will love One Way Out. Everybody loves Nut House. Here's a recent review of the entire 45 minute CD. DL Free AURORA, VERY VERY NICE, dude! REALLY REALLY GREAT! I am Big Time impressed -- you did all that in a home studio WITHOUT ProTools?! -- that's fucking amazing!!! so that's not a live drummer? it does NOT sound like a drum machine, so good fucking job and your overlays, with guitars & vocals too is awesome, so sweet but not over-the-top and i thought i was hearing backward tape loops, or something, for all those swooshing soundz -- electric ladyland-like -- are very erotic & inviting ... I listened to the cd about a half a dozen times yesterday . . . its evocative mood was very good for my soul ... because of the SWEET SOUNDZ, i mean really ... never overdone, in my opinion, the lyrics were great, not trite, but enlightening even .... i can't remember off the top of my head -- but i really liked the Gold Rule (People Gonna Do You) tune... and the Cross The Border was fucking great too -- the voiceovers were way cool -- and so tasty as well, . . . they ALL sounded good to me, . . . it seemed to get better as it went along. At first, i'm going: you should get a female singer... but your gruff voice grew on me, kinda leonard cohen, tom waits type-thing...& your production is really good... really good... very cosmic... oceanic at times -- excellent!! drifting ... & i heard all those electric ladyland-like type things -- all over the place -- very tasty!! great combo of acoustic & electric wails -- listening to #5 (End of the Road) right now -- sweet! actually, ... really great production, dude -- thanks for the MUSIC -- really really great, very creative! I guess the industry just sucks now, doesn't it? that is, a musician like you can't really go shop CD tracks in order to get a contract -- because that's what i think you should do (instead of cd baby) -- get a manager & find a label, because, man, you play real soul music.... good for the head... i mean, man, those guitar overlays are just fucking awesome -- and i am very critical too but you got me --you have really crafted some real music here, my man -- tits to you, bro . . . peace & world love. It has helped turn their way towards the music of Free, and his debut CD shows a lot of character and promise. He calls himself a blues musician, but Free plays a lot more than just the blues. The lyrics, however, was definitely written by someone who went through a lot of heartache and failure, but at times it's the music that pulls him through, which is what makes this album stand-out. In songs such as "Faithful", "68 South 17", and "Children's Children" it sounds like he's having a hell of a time playing the guitar and recording something that's quite outstanding. There are moments where it feels as if he is trying to put too much in a small amount of time, but hopefully he'll be able to play with the formula before he records album number two. Again, he calls himself a blues musician and yet it sounds like a lot of fun, which in many ways is what the blues is all about, looking forward towards better. Free is the kind of artist Rick Rubin would be really into, and it would be a trip if they were ever able to collaborate together. I like this a lot." REVIEW FROM: The Run-Off Groove #149: I Want To Take You Higher By da bookman on April 2, 2007 LISTENER COMMENTS: I listened to your tunes and they were great. I so love the bluesy sound that comes from the talented fingers of a guitar man. The song about Iraq was well done...I work at the base so I'm exposed to the propaganda on a daily basis. I agree that the flag should fly Half-Mast every day in remembrance of those that have just passed on. Peace and out, Tammy SMOKIN' BLUES! Blues is easy to do, WICKED HARD TO DO WELL.
