Hi my name is Melvin A Hardy/ aka B.barstail. I was born in Florida but grew up in Western New York. As a youth I'd always freestyle. At the age of ten I wrote my first rhyme. At the age of 16 I recorded "Money Seems" at Ratti Records in Columbus, Ohio and it was featured on a major compilation album-Midwest Funk Vol. 3. It is currently a platinum album. At the time I was going by the name Swan. Because of its success I was able to be heard, but it didnt pan out the way I thought it would...so I was back to square one. I left WV, where I had been staying and came back to NY. There I teamed up with my friend Gabe and recorded my first record titled MIC. It had a major local street buzz goin on. Thats when my confidence returned, and I was able to tell myself that I have the potential to have a successful music career. Im also a member of ASCAP so that my skill can be protected. To date I have 2 mixtapes and I'm currently working on my 2nd album. I have many other songs that I have recorded that arent featured on albums but were done just for the love of the music.
