Walt was born on December 26, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri as Walter Joseph Gaal and has had a successful radio career as well as his successful music career at the same time. In 1988 Walt wrote and recorded his biggest hit in his solo career, "I'm Sailing Away..." and produced an album with the same title. Walt formed his band The Waltles in 1989 with several lineup changes but the lineup that became a legend in St. Louis was Winston, Chris Noblin, and Scott Eastabrook with songs like "Knock At My Door" , "Turn The Page","Before The Fall", "Somewhere In St. Louis", and ".44 Blues". The Waltles lasted about three years and Walt moved from St. Louis to pursue his radio career. Walt reformed The Waltles with Pat Shout and James Vincent and the trio became household names in Northern California performing favorites like "Knock At My Door", "Paper People", and a recorded version of "Before The Fall". Walt eventually went back to the St. Louis area and reformed The Waltles with Chris Noblin and a few other members that came and went. Walt now a Waltle again just produced their first album in over 10 years called "Psychedelic Folk" Walt Winston is the most successful member of any of The Waltles lineups and continues to write excellent music to this day! See The Waltles! Breaking News...Walt recently scored a Top Ten Folk hit on MP3.com with I'm Sailing Away, and is making plans to record a new album called "The Sun Will Rise Again"
