Perhaps his musical career started while growing up and attending the Brown's Town Methodist Church, where both parents sang on the Church Choir. He also listened to a lot of R&B, Soul, American funk and Rock and Roll. It wasn't long before he started experimenting with musical instruments and teaching himself to play the Melodica. While at York Castle High School he learned to play the guitar, later moving on to The Bass and formed his first Band The Vibez Band, which played at various concerts and stage shows and also on the North Coast Hotel Circuit. Dayal has played Bass for Jamaica’s top Carbaret Performers as well as some of our well known Reggae Artists. This has allowed him to play various genres of music including Jazz , R&B, Blues. He has also recorded with various Jamaican artists including the legendary Justin Hinds and has produced Nyron "Ras Fikre" Henry The poet, vocalists Dennis Malcolm and Nathan Hinds. In 1997 The Jamaica Federation Of Musicians awarded him for long service as well as best instrumentalist. In 2000 he formed the Harambe Band and played at many Private and Corporate events on Jamaica’s North Coast. In 2005 Dayal battled the potentially life threatening disease known as Gillian Barre Syndrome and returned to playing in just about six months. He is currently the Bass Player for Wright's Inc Band, one of the North Coast most awarded and experienced aggregation and House Band at the Superclubs Breezes Runaway Bay Hotel.
