Hailing from the 8 mile and Gratiot area of Warren, Michigan, Halfway II are an acoustic, singer/songwriter trio whom could be compared to Jim Croce meets the lighter side of Alice In Chains. Halfway II consists of Liam Hamill on lead vocals and guitar along with Jason Hackstock on vocals and guitar. Meeting in 9th grade English class due to the fact that both their last names begins with an H, Liam was sat behind Jason. Learning that they shared a mutual love for the same types of music they decided to form a band. After playing hard rock all through high school, they went their seperate ways on to play with other various local Detroit bands, all the while remaining the best of friends. Then they decided that it was time to do something together again. Both had always been especially fond of the MTV Unplugged series, so they decided that they were going to strip music right down to its core. Acoustically. Metro Detroit and the whole world, get ready for the next great acoustic band. Halfway II. Halfway II are happy to introduce its newest member, Dave "Messy" Messerschmidt on percussion. Liam and Jason have also known Messy since the 9th grade and is a welcome addition to the band. Halfway II have amongst other places performed at Michigan's famous Gratioit cruise, Pontiac's Arts, Eats, and Beats, the making of the world's largest hot dog for the Girls and Boys Club, the beautiful Anton Art Center on New Year's Eve in downtown Mount Clemens, and downtown Detroit's greatest Irish bar the Old Shillelagh.
