Bio
His parents discovered he had a talent for singing, when Patrick was at the tender age of seven. He began singing on the youth choir soon after, while learning to play the drums. As well as singing, by the age of 12 Patrick could play the guitar, the bass and keyboards, his parents were very proud of him. At the age of thirteen he had already sung on his first gospel album, and by fifteen, he made his first solo gospel album, he was truly blessed. After leaving school and college, Patrick went into banking, but was not happy until he joined his first soul band “Midnite Express” as lead singer, managed by Ray Levy. They supported Marvin Gaye, Ronnie Laws on their British dates, and were well supported by Greg Edwards of Capitol Radio. The band got signed to GTO Records. After leaving Midnite Express Patrick was signed to Red Bus records, and left with Morgan Khan to start ‘Street Wave records’. Funny enough Patrick says “It was at Red Bus where I first met Simon Cowell”. While at Street Wave, Patrick recorded his first album and was one of the first British artists to have Earth Wind & Fire’s horn section playing on it. The second single; “Never Knew Love Like This before” Gave him his first International club hit in the states via Columbia Records. By 1990 Patrick had sung on a string of national and international hits as a session singer e.g. Tears for fears, Billy Ocean, Lloyd Cole, Kylie, Blue Mercedes, Richard Derbyshire, just to name a few. In (91) Clive Davis signed an album deal with Patrick, David Romani and Mike Francis of Italy. 92 he toured with Clive Griffin opening for Eric Clapton, Michael Bolton and Errol Brown, and again in 93 with Errol as his personal manager. In 1994 Patrick lost both his parents, both of whom had retired to Jamaica. He decided to move to Jamaica and was there for several years, and that was how he got involved with reggae music. It was there he met his Legendary cousin; ‘Ken Boothe’. He soon started recording and producing his new songs in Kingston, with musicians like Sly of Sly & Robbie. Since coming back to England, and seeing how the industry has changed, has made him more determined to be heard. For me, he says; it’s always been about the music, this is the mission that God has assigned to me, I will never give it up until the world has heard what I have to say, the message is in the songs.
