The story behind the formation of One-L-Difference revolves around a series of seemingly random coincidences that intertwined three lives, musically as well as emotionally. This journey began in high school. Mike Gregos began playing saxophone when he began high school, and sharpened his skills in the various bands the music program had to offer. One year later, a young Paul Claro began to attend the same school and joined the same music program. Paul and Mike rose through the musical ranks quickly and soon were playing in the highest level bands together. This alone, should have never happened. Paul and Mike just so happened to be put in the same band, at the same, both rather prematurely. They spoke often but never really got around to hanging out. The second part of this story takes place in college. After graduating high school, Mike attended Hofstra University. He slowly began to lose interest in music, until one night when two young musicians met by chance and began a musical relationship that would eventually become One-L-Difference. One year after starting his college career Mike met Jesse Shusman who was a freshman at the time. The two met by sheer coincidence at three in the morning when Jesse showed Mike some songs of his, songs which happened to have saxophone in them. They began writing music together, and so wanted to enhance their sound. Mike remembered he had known a drummer who he went to high school with, and the rest is history. Since they formed in 2007, One-L-Difference has consistently written unique pop rock music and shows no signs of slowing down. Paul Claro-Drums, Backup Vocals Born December 30th 1988, Paul Claro's musical journey began at a young age. From birth, his life was surrounded by music, with influences ranging from Bruce Springsteen and other classics to the more recent Matchbox 20 and Goo Goo Dolls. This love for music soon grew into a passion for playing and performing. He began playing drums at age 9, and since has grown into a confident and talented musician. He honed his skills with various garage bands throughout high school, and while playing for his high school jazz band, he learned a great deal about musicality. This is also where he met band mate Mike Gregos, and the two later traveled to Japan to perform with the same jazz band. Burning with passion, talent, and raw power, behind the set, Paul is a force to be reckoned with. Jesse Shusman-Piano, Lead Vocalist Born March 27, 1988, Jesse Shusman's musical start began at an early age with classical, rock, and jazz records filling the air of the family household. He found a great interest in music through this, and by listening to his fathers records he was hooked. From there he attended every concert and listened to every record he could get his hands on. He started playing the drums like his father but after hearing one of his fathers Billy Joel records he knew he wanted to write songs and sing with the piano. He started writing at age 14 and didn�t stop. He was addicted, and soon began showing to his friends and family. Through the years of writing he developed his own unique style of pop/rock. He has always been driven to write and perform music, and the chemistry of One L Difference has let him do just that. Michael Gregos-Saxophone, Keyboards, Backup Vocals Born October 28th, 1987 Michael Gregos started his musical career at the age of 12. Once entering high school he picked up the saxophone and started in the beginning band. By one semester later, there was only one band at a higher level that he was not in. By the end of his high school career Michael had played in every band the school had to offer and even traveled to Japan on tour with one of them. Entering college he continued performing music and began writing. With influences spanning from Evanescence and Blink 182 to Charlie Parker, Michael has a wide musical range. He hopes to one day pursue a career with his passion in music and being a part of One L Difference is leading him to do that.
