Bio
Fusion is an alternative and progressive modern rock band whose music is mostly associated to Muse, Metallica, Opeth, Green Day, Pink Floyd…. Why the name Fusion? It’s the story of 3 lifelong friends who started a band in 2003 in London. Clement (french/english), Rafael (french/german) and Alex (french/colombian) have known each other forever. All three have a multicultural education and lived in France and abroad. Consequently the music they wright together integrates elements of all kinds of rock, but somehow there is a homogeneity and a uniqueness in their sound; the fusion of lifelong complicity and influences. That’s what Fusion is all about, combining extremes. Melancholy and positivism, hope and despair, gentleness and rage, music to dance to and music to travel with. The lyrics too are diversified, often poetical, always personal and yet universal; self-achievement, relationships, social issues, love… Fusion might sound like a thousand different bands, but no one sounds like Fusion. 2005 – First concerts. Fusion is elected one of Europe’s 20 best unsigned bands by Chromium records. 2006 – The band releases Volume 1 (1st full length autoproduced album) and plays its way to the Emergenza French national final obtaining the world’s highest semi-final score as they go by and ending up in the French top 10 bands out of 1000 selected (Emergenza is the largest international live act competition). 2007 – “Universal Love” is picked to be this year’s edition official song for the world famous contemporary art festival Le Printemps De Septembre, featuring in all their adds (radio, TV and internet) and on myspace (www.myspace.com/printempsdeseptembre). Extracts of over 15 Fusion songs have been used in two different French plays (Percolateur Blues in 2007 and Of Mice and Men in 2008) and an extract of “Replacing The Sun” has been chosen by a French radio producer as a possible future radio jingle. Replacing The Sun, their second full length autoproduced album, is released in september directly on their myspace. Throughout these years, Fusion has played to large crowds in France, sharing the stage with 2manyDjs, Soulwax, The Blood Arm, Jason Edwards, Son of Dave, Alamo Race Track, Second Sex, Eiffel… Please visit their myspace at www.myspace.com/fusiontherockband
