With tongues planted firmly in cheek, and amps that go to eleven, Brisbane’s Suzy Loves Dick "always takes the proceedings up a few decibels to deliver a 70's LA vibe mixed with a little T-Rex shimmy-shake. (Time Off. Jan 2006). A Suzy Loves Dick live show is the quintessence of old school rock/punk energy influenced heavily by the CBGB’s era. “This trio is just ROCK! Suzy Loves Dick hit the stage with an onslaught that would have pleased the late Ian Rilen. That wicked wall of sound was as pure as any X gig that I have seen, very cool” (Gez-NE'ERDOWELLS 2006) Hot on the heels of sessions at Lunch Box Studios with Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton, Suzy Loves Dick is planning a release of an EP in 2007 The band has just begun work on their much-anticipated forth coming full length CD at Black Box Studios with Jeff Lovejoy at the helm. The members of Suzy Loves Dick have played in working bands together up and down the east coat over the years. This band is the exciting reunification of the three. Front man/bassist, Paul Whoreker, can also be heard playing with an Australian rock icon in his other band, Rumours, fronted by none other than Mick Medew of The Screaming Tribesmen fame. It’s this experience and inherent energy that makes a Suzy Loves Dick show such a tight explosive event. Jeff Lovejoy once said Suzy Loves Dick,”…sounds like The Velvet Underground meets Motorhead. You’ll either get it or you won’t.” And that’s fine by Suzy. X
