[color="brown"][b]For the eyes of a man...for the hearts of a woman...for all to hear. Mahogany is going to captivate you with all she has to offer. This artist is a very talented vocalist, arranger, songwriter, producer, and musician. These are qualities not often found among WOMEN in the music industry. Candace "Mahogany" Miller was born in the heart of Texas. She was raised in a God fearing family where music was an intricate part of everyday life. Mahogany has been a musician all her life. She has been trained in several areas of the performing arts including voice, modeling, theater, dance, and instrumental instruction. Mahogany's sound is unique. As a writer/producer, Mahogany has embraced all ends of the musical spectrum. She has successfully written and collaborated on R&B, Gospel, Country, Rock, Hip-hop and jazz projects. She has been blessed with the opportunity to work with some of the industry's finest and most successful producers and songwriters. She has done work with producers Darrell Allamby (Delight), Chris “Deep” Henderson, and Madukwu Chinwah. Mahogany featured with the Slumpmasters (Dallas, Big Aziz and Mr. Massivo) on the sound track for movie You Got Served (song also featured in the movie The King’s s Ransom). Mahogany has sung for the Mexican Consulate with the Jason Davis Jazz band. She has opened for and shared stages with artist ranging from Jazz Saxophonist David Sanborn, to neo-soul artist Eryka Badu, and even pop sensation JC Chasez. Mahogany tries to explore different ways to impact the masses with music. Recently, she did something new with her music. She merged with Author Kim Robinson ( The Roux in the Gumbo) to create a book “theme song”. This Lifetime is a powerful song inspired by the authors book and poem Life is What You Make it. (Song can be heard at: www.Kim-Robinson.com) Her second author project is currently in it’s completion stages. Author N.M. Shabazz hired Mahogany and her band to do music production and appear for his promotional film Jazz Was His Name, to compliment his new book, holding the same title. Mahogany is currently exploring the world of jazz and is developing her sound within the genre. Soulful Licks in 5/4 and thumpin’ big band tunes have created a dashingly attractive spin on the standard jazz style of the Greats. You may find a lot of soul, a bit of a laid back jazzy swing, and even folk in her music. “The funny thing is, I have been a show tune lover all my life, only recently did I realize that the tunes I love are versions of Jazz standards. That inspired me to explore Jazz. It has been excellent. It has enhanced my whole view of music and writing. We have developed a funky jazzy hip hop be bop style that is a lot of fun and musically intriguing. It has entertained al types of audiences and they all have expressed how they have enjoyed it immensely. I have had the honor of working with greats like Roger Boykin and Big Jack Williams and being mentored by greats like Doug Berry and Sandra Kaye, Now taking all I know of R&B, Gospel, Soul music and even gospel and combining it with my pure love for swing has been amazing. I love it!” ~Mahogany Mahogany is currently recording. Be looking for completion by the Fall, 2007.
