GT Harris is a Canadian born alt country and folk music singer / songwriter. GT Has been called "NYC's King Of Country Music" and in L.A. named a part of the Laurel Canyon country rock scene resurgence. Currently residing in Southern Ontario and awaiting his first independent solo release Gt will be playing festivals clubs bars and Honky Tonks near you this year across Canada and the U.S. GT grew up in a musical family playing the fiddle and mandolin at age 7 and performing live at age 11. As a teen GT turned to the guitar as a means of songwriting and expression. Moving to New York City GT spent his 20's jamming and sitting in with the likes of people like The Lemonhead's Evan Dando, London Quire Boys Nigel Mogg, as well as Jason Nesmith, Greg Garing and Donovan Leich Jr. GT's creation the band High Horse recorded an Independent EP In Oxford Mississippi at Tweed Records in 2002 then spent the better part of the early 2000's playing Bar's and festivals in and around New York City and the Los Angeles areas and had developed quite a celebrity following spotted attending shows at clubs like CBGB's, The Rodeo Bar, Sine and others around the Lower East Side and Brooklyn. GT then teamed up with singer songwriter and fiddle player extraordinaire Bridget O'Malley. Under the name The Pawn Shop Angels they made their way to the west coast and then upon arrival in Los Angeles they were asked to join the band The Deserters fronted by Angela Bruyere and afore mentioned Nigel Mogg on bass . Continued to play country shows around the Los Angeles area for two years at places like The Mint , The Whiskey and The Troubadour. All the while GT has been playing his own brand of country folk music at side solo shows and honing his skills at bars, cafes and clubs in all the cities and towns across America .
