The band was started in 1996 by J.C, Arno and a drummer named Rusty. They started playing gigs in and around the Johannesburg area. Rusty then left and was replaced by a guy named Grant. He got married shortly afterwards and also left the band. Derek Garnet then stood in on drums for the recording of the first 4 track demo during May 1997. After this he was replaced by Craig Shaw. The band then proceeded to record a full length album and did quite a few gigs. Unfortunately, fame and fortune passed them by and Pyramid ceased to exist by mid 1998. Eight years later, Arno and J.C. got together again and recruited Wayne, who engineered the first two recording sessions, on bass. Marco joined on drums and the line-up was completed with Nigel joining on guitar. The band started working on new material as well as revamping some of their older numbers. After a few gigs, we managed to make it onto the Telly. This was fun, but it didn't last. So now we are back in the garage recording again. Check out Arno's Garage Studio to see some our new tracks. We will be posting them here soon along with the Ordinary Day video that was on TV.
