FLAV MARTIN (pronounced "flahv") is dedicated to writing eclectic acoustic music. Flav has appeared on THE MORNING SHOW (NBC) and as a guest guitarist with pop/folk legend AL STEWART at the legendary CLUB PASSIM (Cambridge, MA) and in Misquamicut, RI as well. He took the stage in September at Colorado's SOUTH PARK MUSIC FESTIVAL. Throughout his career, he's opened for DAVID CROSBY, SUZANNE VEGA, LEO KOTTKE, PETE BEST (The Beatles,) DAVY JONES (The Monkees,) CRY OF LOVE, TOMMY EMMANUEL, THE RADIATORS,AL STEWART,WIDE SPREAD PANIC CHAD AND JEREMY ERIC BURDEN AND THE ANIMALS STEVE MORSE to name a few. Flav's many composition credits include SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, PBS, CANON FILMS, THE RHODE ISLAND SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, and New York-based Off-Broadway productions and various independent films. His music has been acclaimed by media some VERY well-known celebrities alike. Credited as one of the most innovative acoustic guitar players on the scene today, Flav blends beautiful melodies with intricate technique, voicings, and a percussive style that leaves people saying "how does he do that?" Flav has been called the "guitarist's guitarist: soulful, sarcastic, funny, and at times romantic" all in one very unique, approachable performer. He recently performed at THE BITTER END and THE KNITTING FACTORY in New York; the latter of which he featured special LARRY MARTINELLI (pre-KISS member,) and JANICE MESSITTE (CONAN O'BRIEN and COMEDY CENTRAL.) Most recently, Flav appeared on the MARTIN STAGE at the NATIONAL FOLK ALLIANCE FEST in Austin, Texas and at the ZIHUATANEJO INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL in Mexico. God bless and enjoy the music!
