LAFENTY brings about a new life to the reggae dancehall sound. Born Laphena Kary Thomas on April the 21st 1975 in the Parish of St. Thomas, in the small district of Church Corner. Being the fourth and last child of Veda and Agene Thomas Laphena’s earlier childhood was often spent watching her older sisters play performing by singing and dancing on their front porch. These influences help Laphena realize her true talents as thus Lafenty was born. Laphena takes her real life experiences to bring about her creativity in her music. You can hear this in her first tune written in 2002 entitled Stress Me. Laphena currently is working on several projects that include tunes that sure to bring the people to the Dance Floor. Laphena has been struck by local stardom as she currently has three hit songs that play daily by east coast radio, irei FM Radio Station and hits 97. These tunes include Modeling, All the Evil and Loving You Want. Laphena has previously preformed at stage show in Yahllas St. Thomas at the Yahllas Jerk. Laphena Thomas aka Lafenty steps lightly and praises her fans for all the positive feed back. Good music comes from the heart and Lafenty expects to continue that tradition in her new and up coming CD due out in February 2008.
