Jim Black is a UK electronic artist now living in France, who has been making electronic dance music for 10 years. His music reveals a wide range of influences that stem from the rise of early techno and can be described as ‘slightly different from the norm’, ranging ‘from fast beats to the more analogue retro feel’ (Kahvi Collective). Jim Black has had two recent releases; a remix for the small independent electronic label ‘Buy You Sell Me’ and a 6-track download E.P. for the label ‘Kahvi Collective, described as ‘an interesting six-track E.P. to go with the groove of the existing Kahvi releases, easy listening and refreshing in parts’. The particular atmosphere of some of his tracks has attracted positive feedback from the film industry and a selection of his work has recently been chosen by Vertigo films for their music database. Jim Black is constantly working on new songs and creating refreshingly new sounds, fusing old style electro patterns with unusual noises and beautiful melodies.
