Name: Natalia Aleykina Biography/ Education: Training: Dancing 1988-1993 Ballet School I`m really into dancing. But though I haven`t become a professional dancer, due to my earlier years spent in Ballet school, I got a good walk and attitude. 2001 – 2002 Jazz modern classes. I was trained by Anna Braslavskaya, chief choreographer in We will rock you show Now I`m not attending any professional classes, but I frequently visit some stretching, Latina, ballet classes in my gym center just to keep fit. Drama 1990 – 2000 English – Theatrical school I`m very greatfull to my parents that they chose this school. Because all years that I spent there. I spent them at the stage, in our music studio, writing my own songs for school musicals, singing in school band, making my first steps as an actress. I participated in our school theater. It was half a professional children theater. At the age of 15 I started to write for our school musicals. A professional Moscow theater of Modern got interested and they took my lyrics for their play (Little Prince). 2000 A tour in France with a Russian drama ‘Snegurochka’ by A. Ostrovsky. 2001-2002 I attended drama classes taught by A. Bachurin, a director of We will rock you show and some other Russian musicals. Vocal 2001-2006 Jazz college. A place where I started my professional Voice training. My teacher, N. Kudriavceva, is a former student of renown Mira Lvovna Korobkova, whose methodic of teaching (that is based on Italian school of meca voche (latin) singing) is very famous in Russia, and her students also are teaching in USA. Other 2000-2005 University of Management I`ve graduated with best results the producing faculty. My magor is prodicering TV and Radio shows and films. It wasn`t my choice to enter this university but my parents wanted me to get a higher education. Professional experiences: 1997-2000 I was a lead singer in a school band NOBODYHOME. Our repertoire was consisted of especially country music. 2000-2004 I was participated in several bands that played covers and remakes of popular pop songs. 2004-2005 I was chosen to play the main part of Scaramouche in We will rock you show by Queen. This period got me a lot of experience, happiness and success. 2005-2006 I took part in EVRA project. It is original songs written in main stream style (like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Lara Fabian). 2007 Queen Forever project The Bohemians band Mary Cay project ( As you may know a renown cosmetic giant Mary Cay often organizes seminars and all is made like a big show. A lot of famous artists are invited to participate). Music preferences I was grown up on American and European music. When I knew so little about music the only criteria of my choice was everything that was different from awful Russian pop sound. I deeply respect Russian opera. We’ve got a good tradition and our opera singers like Chvorostovskiy or Vishnevskaja are well known all over the world. But when it concerns Russian pop-rock culture, it’s a sad story. Our music and rhythm are very poor; singers find it difficult to give life performance. Money is more important then talent. We have business but it’s neither show nor music. So since childhood I appreciated all that sounded in English, French, Spain, and Italian. Of course, when I grew older this variety shrank. I will try to describe all singers and bands which formed my vision of what my music should be like. 1) I adore Lara Fabian, Celine Dion, and Mariah Carey for their technique. I think that the voice technique, voice range, voice control and flexibility are necessary conditions for a successful singer. 2) Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Lauren Hill – they sing with their soul. Technique without heart is nothing and I always try to remember it. 3) I like Steve Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Reeves, because they are perfectly in harmony with music. Rhythm is a base of every song. That’s was Russian singers usually miss. 4) I like Queen music. Actually, I like all music that can captivate the attention of stadiums. A song should possess energy, announcement, there should be an idea. That’s the reason of Queen’s and Beatles` success. 5) I respect Pink because she is not pretending to be someone else. She is original and natural in her own way. To conclude everything I would say that I’m closer to pop music, but it should have an interesting harmony, catchy tune, it should show my voice abilities, it should have an idea, it should fit my feelings. Also I always try to make a show. That’s what I respect Madonna for. In 80-es there was a very famous Russian pop star Alla Pugacheva. She conquered millions hearts and everybody waited for her new songs, because each of them was a story and every song was made like a little spectacular. Nowadays people are waiting for show from the singer. Entertainment technologies went so far and they are developing. They help to amaze people. Light, fire, sound, dance show is a standard for every concert of every big pop star. There is nothing interesting about it anymore. But I think that it would be great if a singer could tie all songs in a story at his/her concert and make a kind of musical. I think it’s a good and fresh idea for the touring.
