Influenced by seattle's music expolsion in the mid 90's he decided to start playing guitar. he learned a few chords and began writing his own music. after finishing a couple songs he wanted to try to record them. using his dad's old mix tapes as canvasses he'd record on to tape player's using an old computer's microphone. he instantly became addicted to recording his songs. but, where fun w/ microphones really started is when tim lent one of his tapes to a classmate david. nervous as all hell that dave wouldnt like it(i dont know to this day if he really did or not). but dave asked to jam with tim and they wrote their first collaboration. "Love Fair". and that is where fun w/ microphones began. not long after "Love Fair" was recorded dave met a drummer dan. tim, dave, and dan started to get together and write songs and soon after became "Conquistador" a very garage punk band whose hits included "Potatoes" "I Despise" "Nazi Punk" and "Yesterday's mail". in 2000 about two years removed from "Conquistador" dave and tim got together with nate rick and luke to form "Dreamtime Cowboy". a sort of indie meets punk and folk sound. "fun w/ microphones" stems from some of the ideas of dreamtime cowboy.
