Nancy Cartonio (a.k.a. Lil McGill) is a musician, songwriter, and producer living in Portland, Maine. Her band Dear Liza appeared on the Aggressive Folk Motion Picture Soundtrack in 1993, and consequently their single Stoned was played on college radio in the Northeast United States during the mid 90s. She also performed as an acoustic duo or trio, with sister Julie Cartonio (a.k.a. DigitalKitten), and friend Heather Caston. Dear Liza reformed briefly in 2002, played several live shows in New England but never released an album or single. Aquatronic featured Nancy, her sister Joanna Fitzgerald, and Pharaoh Freels (a.k.a. OmegaMan), and offered an eclectic hip-hop, self-titled album in 2008. Her latest group Lil McGill disbanded in 2010, though she still releases music under that name. She is on the Board of Directors of the Libertarian think-tank The Council of Twelve, the Maine Music Association, and the Maine Songwriters Association. Nancy has been featured on WMPG, WBLM and WCLZ FM in Portland, Maine and included in the Boston Phoenix newspaper. Internationally, she has charted on numerous folk internet charts, and receives rotation on internet radio daily. Currently, she is #4 on the ReverbNation local pop chart. She has produced songs for many of her indie peers, including Naked Body by Jason Wilkins (a.k.a. Figure Models), Climb This Mountain by Glen Turrico, and Venus and Mars by Jack Trudel. She appeared on the album Lost Houses by Jason Spooner, singing backup and playing piano. She played keys and sang backup for the Judd Mulkerin Band in 2006, and did the same for the Adam Kurtz Band in 2010.
