I started writing music about ten years ago, but quickly decided I couldn't keep it up. Recently, I formed a skiffle band (don't laugh, we are starting to branch out now. We're even starting to perform some of the stuff that me and one of the other band members have written. I still find it great fun to perform "Yellow River" in front of 20 people). This inspired me to have another go at song writing, so me and my nephew have had a stab at it. The four songs on this site are the outcome. I wrote the lyrics, and Lewis did the music (I still can't play the guitar properly, but I am trying hard). Some of the music he created himself, and some I already had the basic tune written on an acoustic guitar and he tidied it all up, and added lead guitar and stuff. He refused to let me near any of the instruments, in case I set fire to them. I did manage to sneak in a crafty bit of keyboard on "Hope Springs" though. I'm looking to do a five-track EP - the "Half The Weight EP" - the other song being "Don't Take Me For A Ride", with an album - "Songs Of Hope And Despair" - to follow later in the year.
