Take a large chunk of rock, mix in a little funk, add some pop and techno, and a hint of the 1970's, and what's the end result? - Boston's multi-styled and distinctive Blue Moon Harem. They've created an interesting sound, covering different genres of rock, that has become their trademark.Blue Moon Harem was formed by singer/songwriter Bix and guitarist Demetri in 1999. After deciding to take a different approach to recording, they procured the services of well respected producer Jim Siegel; as well as, the talents of drummer Lex Lianos, and bass player Paul Bryan (Paula Cole, Katie Curtis, Amiee Mann, and Nora Jones). The outcome is the 11 song self titled Blue Moon Harem. . This powerful CD is diverse and fun, basic yet complex, and is appealing to, and has received a very positive response from, a wide ranging audience. The CD kicks off with the pulsing rock tune Addiction which has received airplay on WAAF's local music show in Boston, on which the band has also performed live. Addiction, along with Ride and Dog's Life, has been praised in reviews leading to spots as a featured "song of the day" on Garageband.com's home page. The band is also a staple on Evolvingartist.com's radio show and on their 24 hour streaming video program. BMH is also featured in the independent movie DARK CHAMBER, and it is from a company called 4th Horizon Cinema. It will be coming to DVD later this year (hopefully not later than that) -- A company named Pop Cinema will be distributing the film, and it will likely get into all the big chains, and maybe TV. We have 4 songs in the movie - ADDICTION, I AM A WALL, DOG'S LIFE, and ILLNESS. The SPECIAL FEATURES section of the movie will have our video for Addiction as well as all 4 songs with some light commentary by the band. LOOK for it!! Here is a quick blip on what the movie is about. "After ten years, Justin Besler moves back to his father's house. But it's not as he remembered. His father's house has been renovated to support four apartments with seven residents. And among them... resides a killer. When the victim of a ritualistic cult turns up on his property, Justin secretly places the tenants under video surveillance. The deeper he digs, the more he puts his own life in danger. It's an ever bending mystery-thriller with an ending to die for!. Addiction and other songs are also featured in the film Hurt from Pittsburg, PA and Morgantown, WV based Sorry Dog Productions.
