Bio
Twilight Biografie Former classmates Tommaso Sarri and Frank van Kasteren started a band named Twilight with their friend Jop Leek on April 8 2003. Before that time they only improvise a bit on acoustic guitars within the walls of their homes. After the gig at the Fioretti college, where Frank goes to school, they decide to proceed with the band. That summer, they meet Joost Veldhoven, who plays a mean bass, despite of his handicap (one hand). He joins the band and they spend a year playing their own songs in local pubs en bars. Even though the band grabs the attention of the audience, success is still a long way to go. They are also still looking for an ‘own sound’, something that distinguishes Twilight from the countless other youthful bands. This own sound is found in the summer of 2005 when Anne Punt, classmate of Frank, joins the band with his keyboard. Now the sound of the band seems more complete. Unfortunately, a distance is forming between Jop and the rest of the band. It seems like Twilight and Jop are growing apart. He leaves the band in January 2006. Fokke Slottje becomes the new drummer. At first, the passage is hard for the band but eventually they form a close group and record their own songs for the first time at the studio “Art of sound” in May 2006. Many people like the CD but the band still isn’t happy. The live performances lack energy and the audience loses interest because of it. So the band decides to make music which has more power and drive in it. They decide to make genuine rock songs. Now Twilight has succeed to develop an own sound which is appealing for a very wide audience. Despite of their youthful age they are a promising group for the future.
