CLICK ON SONGS TO LISTEN TO SONGS & MIXES I love music.it's my life,be it house, electonic breaks, experimental, indie rock, drum n bass, hip hop, rave or even hard as f#*k Gabba.I listen to everything with an open mind.I dont realy do music snobbery.if someones into one style fine, but if they looking down on another style because they think theirs is musically better, theres always a genre thats musically better than their favorite.if its out there & people enjoy so be it.I DJ everything thats mixable.I got my technics 1210s about 8 years ago and have gone through fazes, fads and styles.but now i just buy & play anything thats good and try to master mixing that style of music. All I can suggest toany new DJs is that when you start go on them and practice in all the spare time you have.I used to clock up 8 hour sessions day after day,it helped not having a job at the time like.so just try and get at least an hour or two a day for the 1st 2 years.listen to Djs in how they mix and in what makes a good mix of two records in that style.find the perfect mix of two records yourself, and try to make like that in a full set with mixing on the fly.but dont dwell to much on the same mixes youve learnt, remember them then move on.try different styles of music.go into other rooms at clubs and listen to more experimental/underground stuff or if theres a room with a totally different style on listen to that DJ for abit.the more styles a DJ can master the better.and try learning scratching and some form of turntablism however basic or technical. It may seem impossibly hard and sound embarressing at 1st but once you start getting a little better it adds a new dimension to your DECKS and you start picking more n more things up.I mean, thats what vinyl decks a for,if you want to do staight simple beat matching mixes buy a cheap CDJ dj in a box kit from ARGOS. Ive been producing for a couple of years now, thats my new obsession.im just messing about with sounds on my plugins trying to find that engaging sound, that sound that jus drags you in,and finding the perfect arrangemnt for it,be it a big bassline or an amazing synth pattern. Ive put my 1st ever tune up.its not great, its a 'heard it before' bouncy house tune,i was just finding my feet with the software package so i tried to make something simple at 1st.its got a nice harder edge to it,which i think fits my style.Ive always liked something with a bit of bite.
