The name derived from the complex game of chess, making references to the choices you make in life…”Every thing is by choice, when you’re with Playaz Choice!”…Playaz Choice is a self sustaining independent label comprised of members that cover a wide variety of musical genres. Also having upcoming projects in DVD’s, (PimpALil DVD Magazine), internet radio (Live365.com/stations/playazchoiceradio), promotions and fashion (ShadyLady),Spanning from hip-hop to reggaeton to our own style of rhythm and blues, Playaz Choice takes what you already know about the hip-hop culture and adds the originality and poise of eager and disciplined individuals and gives you a unique sound that is undeniable. Playaz Choice Records holds 20+ artist and over a dozen staff members each with a specific role. The two major authorities are C.E.O and -founder Ronald K. Smith a.k.a “Bigg Choice” and, producer/artist and Co-founder Jamain A. Pabon. Jamain Austin Pabon, musically known as Puhbare/Puhbarrio, was born and raised in Norwich with frequent trip to the island of Puerto Rico due to his hereditary collaborations. Puerto Rican by way of his father and African/Native American through his mother, Puhbare was exposed to multiple facets of music. Coincidentally being born into a family of musicians, Puhbare got an early start in honing in on his obvious craft. Supported by his elder brother, who so happens to be his biggest influence, Puhbare began working with then local DJ’s ( DJ D-Smooth). Later teaming up with DJ Bigg Mayo and DJ Roddy Rod (Mass Pike), he help to construct rap groups that in clubs all over Connecticut and Rhode Island (Marquis Café, Norwich, Connecticut; Atlantis 2, Westerly, Rhode Island). Creating a buzz for himself for being consistent and having an uncanny ability to blend songs, Puhbare worked his way up to becoming fortunate enough to have worked with DJ Chubby Chub, DJ Clue and recording artist Mad Lion. Incorporating his Caribbean ancestry he also worked the reggae scene. DJ ing alongside talents like, DJ Bam Bam and DJ Juice, Puhbare remained consistent. It was only destined that his creativity afforded him the ability to write, compose and produce songs. Continuing on this path, Puhbare became a well-known and respected musical artist. Life wasn’t all peaches and cream. Puhbare sometimes had to support himself by less wanted means. Some of them means rewarded him a couple of trips through the Connecticut correctional facilities. But these unfortunate events never stopped his musical grind. Currently, Puhbare is responsible for creating a resume of intros for some of Connecticut’s mainstream radio personalities (i.e. The morning show; Jammin 107.7fm, Jammin on the job; Jammin 107.7fm, Cram it or jam it; Jammin 107.7fm, Friday night battles; Jammin 107.7fm, Reggae ton invasion; Jammin 107.7fm, and DJ Wrexx “The Beast” mix show; Hot 93.7fm), producing and performing hit tracks (“Knockie Knockie”, “Back To Reality”, etc.) that aired on some of those same radio stations. He is a vital asset to “Playaz Choice Records”, indefinitely.
