Santiago de Cuba, 1978. Pianist, composer and singer. Her academic formation begins at 7 years old, forming part of diverse choral groups, to the time that make presentations like pianist in Latin American music international festivals that was take place in Santiago de Cuba. In 1996 she begins to compose, receiving classes of the prestigious Cuban composers Harold Gramatges and Louis Aguirre. In 1998 she received a Special Mention in the composition aid: Alejandro Garcia Caturla, with the choral work: “Estados de Animo”. At the same time she starts to study Musical Composition in the High Institute of Arts in Havana, Cuba. She has obtained prizes and mentions like singer and composer in several editions of the Jojazz Contest, and has annually been invited to the event Women in the Jazz, that is celebrate every year in the prestigious Havana Jazz Club: “La Zorra y el Cuervo”. In 2001 she obtains the First Prize in the Composition Contest: “AlejandroGarcia Caturla” with the work: Landscapes, for two voices and piano. During the years 2001 and 2002 she was take part of Lemanacuba project, with some musicians of Irakere group and students of the High Institute of Art and the National School of Arts, doing tours by several cities of France. In this period she was alternates that work with her participation in the prestigious group: Mezcla, directed by the North American musician Pablo Menendez, like singer and pianist, doing international and national tours (Jazz Festival in Saint Martin, International Jazz Festival (Havana, Cuba), Jazz Festival “Coco Fest” (Cayo Coco, Cuba) and International Jazz Festival in Barranquilla, Colombia. She also was performing with this group continuously in a several Jazz Clubs in Havana, Cuba. Also, to the end of 2002 she participated like singer and pianist in the tribute that the High Institute of Art offered to Sir George Martin, remarkable British musician, and producer of mythical quartet The Beatles, during his visit to Cuba. At the end of 2003 and until 2006 she collaborated with the percussionist Alejandro Mayor, creating the musical group: Gala Mayor, doing performances in a several jazz clubs. At the same time, in 2004 she was selected, to perform the musical works finalists of SGAE Latin Jazz Contest 2004. She was participate in other concerts celebrated in the International Jazz Festival, sharing scene with the great pianist Chucho Valdés. In June of 2005 she was graduates in the specialty of Musical Composition in the High Institute of Art with excellent results. In that year she was perform in a jazz concert in "Casa de las Americas", with several winning musicians of the Jojazz Contest, like the vibraphonist Tamara Castaneda, the trumpet players Mayquel Gonzales and Yasek Manzano, the pianist Alejandro Vargas, the percussionist Alejandro Mayor, and the bass player Aryan Ortiz.
