Mainstream represents the voice of the urban streets with smooth yet cutting edge grooves that are reminiscent of its rich soulful genre with a Contemporary, Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop and Soul Blend. Mainstream began in 1997 with a nucleus of Trombonist Jarrett Miles and Trumpeter Jermaine Miles. What began as performances at private functions, vastly turned into bookings at various clubs throughout The East Coast. The band has appeared at various clubs in the Baltimore area the 8X10 nightclub, Club Twisters, The Latin Palace, and Pier 6 concert Pavilion. Other staged performances include the famed Arena Playhouse. In Philadelphia: Morgan's, The Black Lily @ The Five Spot weekly, The Electric Factory. The band has also rippled the airwaves of the reputable 88.9 WEAA FM radio station in Baltimore, Maryland. Mainstream has opened for well-known artists such as the Roots, Kindred and Jill Scott, Members of Mainstream have performed with Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, R-Kelly, Musiq-Soulchild, Scratch, Kim Burrell, The Clark Sisters, Maysa Leak (Incognito) and Jaguar. Members of Mainstream have also worked with Various record labels and Producers, such as: Def Jam Records, Motive Records, Roc-A-Fella Records, Touch of Jazz, Hidden Beach Records and The Studio owned by Larry Gold.
