As summer winds down I would like to personally thank all of those who were kind enough to vote for GALLEON in the Opening Act musical competition. I am proud that we advanced to the fourth round of voting. Unfortunately we did not place high enough in the voting to advance to the fifth round. Again, thank you all for your kind and strong support, and as they say in baseball, WAIT TIL' NEXT YEAR! And now I return you to my regularly-scheduled post: Attention musicians in the Stone Mountain/Pine Lake area of Georgia: Local band GALLEON is making necessary changes in order to accelerate our artistic and commercial growth. We need the following: 1. DRUMMER with chops, taste, control and stamina; 2. BASS GUITARIST who rocks hard but knows not to overplay; and either 3. LEAD GUITARIST who "smokes" without upstaging the lead vocalist; or 4. MULTI-WIND PLAYER with rock style, not jazz or fusion style. Our music is all original, highest quality, and bridges the genres of rock, folk-rock and modern country. As indicated above, I prefer to work with musicians from the Stone Mountain/Pine Lake area of Georgia. Ability to sing harmony is helpful but not essential. What is essential, however, are the ability to learn new material quickly and the willingness and ability to take directions. GALLEON is NOT a democracy. I strive for continual improvement and excellence in our sound and professionalism in our approach, as I plan to take the band into the studio as soon as we are ready to record as many of our original songs as possible. As for live performance bookings, they are upcoming but not immediate. Then contact me ASAP if you are interested in being part of something special. If you cannot commit to an original music project, don’t waste your time or mine, as this endeavor wouldn’t be right for you.
