My name is Patrick Cannell and I am a one man vending machine. Everything on these recordings is composed, middied, played and sung by myself. With the exception of Shallow Grave which was co-written by myself and Simon Reed. I have been writing songs since I was 11 and have been doing homemade recordings since I was 19. Thanks to modern science and cheap foreign labour it is now possible to make very high quality recordings in the comfort of your own rubber suit. Unfortunately, I am now forty years old (a mite decrepit for pop star status)and yet I am at the peak of my psychedelic powers. These latest recordings are the best I have ever made. My motives are twofold (like my testicles); 1)I am using this showcase to get my music to a large and discerning audience. Other artists may like to cover my songs. That would be nice. And 2)The kind of record deal I envisage for myself is as follows; I would like someone to turn me into a cartoon character. When marketed, my songs will be accompanied by animated videos. If possible, I would also like someone to turn my physical body into a cartoon character so that each day will be filled with chaos and slap-stick hilarity. I also act and write comedy.
