Bio
Cate Evens (pronounce Evens as in Evans) is an artist who knows what she wants. You get a pretty good impression of that on her current ep „Angel on the Edge“. The singer, originally from Brilon, composed the songs for the five-tracker in cooperation with her guitar player Torsten Williams. Special attention should be paid to the up-tempo-song „Sweeping the Scene“ that makes you inevitably bang your head and the ballad „Pardon me“ (recorded live at a german tv-show) that shows Cate´s wonderful and strong voice. The 25-year-old started her musical career by moving to Hamburg in 1999 to study at the renowned „Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama“. Three years later she finished Stage School as a professional musical performer, had some minor engagements in musicals, before finding her passion for rockmusic that led her to sing in several bands. Since the beginning of 2007 however the power woman decided to concentrate on a solo-career and the imidiate past looks everything but boring. So on Nov. 5th Cate performed her new single „the Walking Away“ at the german premiere of the new James Bond movie „Quantum of Solace“. „I´ve tried everything to make Daniel Craig fall helplessly in love with me“ she just laughed during an interview in Hamburg. The audience could already be convinced of Cate´s awesome live quality at the beginning of October `08 when Cate gave an impressive unplugged-concert at the Collien Fernandes- model contest „Die Eine 2008“ in Erfurt. In January 2009 the hardworking lady, who besides is an official supporter of the „Deutscher Tierschutzbund“, will sing a show in Milano / Italy and her „angel on the edge“- shopping mall tour, that has just started in Aachen, Germany, will lead her through 22 shopping center till the end of April 09. There´s much much more to come.....
