I have written many songs in many different styles except disco. My most recent cd is called A Saviour Like You. Singers are the worst self critics You can spot it on the internet. The cover is a hand holding a baby's feet. Very cute cover. But this account is not about the album. It is about something else. My first passion is to choose songs that people know and then really go out on a limb with them. Sometimes the results are very satisfying. You were always on my mind and What a difference a day makes" represent an almost final personal version. Mind you, the version of Haleluhah , there are some moments...a bit of something happens..The performance technically could have been better, but there's a fragile reminiscent feel to it; I believe I successfully lost myself in the persona of the song. If you listen you will know/feel it when this happens. The genious is music is not in writing the song. The genious is when you can technically deliver/express/reveal the personal that is asleep in the words, but is waiting for a performance that will wake it up and make the whole world take notice. What I look for are song performances that surpass what was already done. I do not have a perfectly trained voice, but I will go on a limb in the performance. I will push it to the limit, then I will relisten to what I tried and analyze analyze to see how I can get the performance into the "gold bubble" Gold bubble is when the listener completely forgets where he or she is and has lost track of time and does not even realize that the songs have been playing over and over again.
