Since the age of five, I've been spinning records. This all began in the Robert Taylor Homes,( Chicago, Ill.) red buildings to be exact. My mother (R.I.P) used to have quarter parties on the weekends to raise money for not only herself, but family and friends as well. This was to assist in provisions of food, clothing and rent. Being from a family of mostly Vice Lords(Unity to the upmost), who followed the original traditions as a daily lifestyle (Upliftment of the community), I found myself amongst some of the greatest hood stars in the midwest. As a child, I would get sent to bed along with my siblings to allow grownups to do what it was they done. Having a natural love for musical dynamics, I used to crack the bedroom door and peek into the rest of the house attempting to get a glimsp of what it was to party. As I recall, One night I was in the doorway dancing to some of the music being played and was caught by one of the guest. I was then brought out into the living room and told to do that dance again. I begin doing what I was told out of fear of being physically punished due to my disobediance. After realizing that there were not going to be any repercussions, I began to relax and do what I then did best and that was to become the life of the party. Knowing that the moment I began to bore everyone, I would be sent back to bed, which was something I did'nt want, so I danced my tail off for the duration of the party, retrieved drinks from the kitchen and repeatedly dumped ashtrays. Being that I now became the life of the party (at least when the intoxicants took effect of everyone), I was then allowed to answer the doors and locate the next record, which is when I became fascinated with what actually made the party move (The Record Player) and within months, I became the disk jockey. As with all things, it took some time to get the hang of how to control the atmospere of a celebration, but I was then too determinied to nto fail this task. Picking the right music, keeping the nickle in the right position to avoid skips and not allowing too long a period of silence between songs. This was the beginning of something great. By the age of twelve, my mother had bought me a set of used gemini turntables and technique mixer for my sixth grade graduation. I used these tables everyday for the next two to three years until they nolonger worked. I'd make mix tapes to pass out to my friends, family, and those I did'nt even know. Basically, to whom ever would accept them and what alot of money my mother spent on blank tapes ( Big ups to Woolworth for keeping them so cheap. I guess it was then a good investment towards keeping me out of the streets,(But to no avail, there were other passions growing inside of me...Violence, money, women and control!!!). Life then begin to through multiple curves and I found myself in a world destined for destruction to all opposing, as well as myself. Being a leader, I began to regain control of the destiny I'd chosen and drew closer to my original love...Music. This brings us to the year 1997. At the ripe age of twenty-four, I began to use life's everyday issues as a form of enlightenment to those who had the aspirations of becoming Pimps, hustlaz, Gangstaz (In the true sense of the meaning. I then gravitated toward any and every recording studio that was not presently booked for time and created not only a recording career as an aspiring rap artist, but self training as a producer, sound engineer, graphic designer, and videographer (pre & post production). I ate, breathed, and slept in the motivation of becoming an entity of the music scene in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and surrounding areas in the Midwest. This was not an easy task, nor did anyone allow it to be. There are not many books that I did'nt read and memorize. In the studio, I found that I'd possessed what all labeled the "midas touch". I had a natural talent of becoming one with equipment unknown to me and begin to stack my money towards purchasing my very own professional quality Entertainment Studio and accepted nothing less than the best. Though many were informed that it was'nt the quality of a recording, but the potential, I chose not to belittle myself with small thinking and in 1999 I aquired the finance to solely purchase everything I needed and wanted, twice over. Being that I've always enjoyed the dynamics of the So So Def camp and my Homie Dallas Austin, I began to imitate the mixes of their recordings and applied them to mine. After about two years of constant practice, I became who I am today and that is no less than I desired. My career as an artist began to become overshadowed by the numerous albums I began producing for others and there never seemed to be enough hours in one day to compete with the demands of those who desired their albums to sound as if it were done entirely by a major label. This caused all other producers in the surrounding areas to step their game up. After completing several albums for chosen individuals, I then released a compilation CD "Same Game, Different Day" and attracted the attention of the industry and was given direct details on how to maintain my position in the hiphop, r&b and Pop circles in which I rotated. Three obligations later, I now find myself training and advising others on how to obtain as well as maintain there positions. So as you can see; we sometimes aspire to become one thing and life offers us several additional options, only I decided to conquer them all. Now I sit in multiple chairs as a Entertainment Exec. and the rest is history. At the present time, I am writing a tell all book in full detail, yet to be titled, So stay tuned.....ALREADY, Mr Cassanova B.
