Bio
From an early age, S. Williams has been a true MC to the art of hip hop. The first rhyme he ever learned was King of Rock from Run-D.M.C. His cousin, J.Prince, quickly followed in the footsteps of his older cousin and mastered the art. The two shared rhymes as youngsters, and developed a style unparalleled to this day. As the years went by and the game changed, the two artists learned to adapt with the times and adjust to how music was being made. With one goal in mind, their ultimate success, they strove to make nothing but hit records. In 1999, they ran into a man named Big P Favors, who saw something in the two hungry mc's. Big P, who was only looking for R&B singers at the time, dropped that idea and took on the project Dusk till Dawn. The buzz that Big P (owner of Top Notch Records) made in his home town and state with the group Dusk till Dawn was of nothing anyone had ever seen from that area at that time. After a long run and a debut maxi single, there was a falling out, and the group Dusk till Dawn was no longer under Top Notch management. The past being the past, the artists S.Williams, now known as Yellow, and J.Prince, known now as Armani Cris, devised a plan to reinvent themselves and started the movement called Broken Down ENT & Records! While promoting the new idea, the two struggled to maintain normal lives. As inner city youths, they became involved in drug dealing, homelessness, and the court system. When Top Notch's owner Big P opened a mom and pop shop, the first of its kind in the city of Brockton, he offered his previous artist Yellow a job at the store. Yellow accepted the offer and used the money he made to put out the first mixtape under Broken Down ENT & Records, “If it ain't broken don't listen vol. 1.” Seeing his former group grow more mature with experience rekindled Big P’s interest in them. After a few meetings between Top Notch's owner and Broken Down ENT, they came to a conclusion that there was unfinished business and decided to collaborate once again. The future of the two companies is looking bright, with much anticipation for the next upcoming project. All true hip hop fans please turn an ear to the music on this page to hear and see first-hand what this movement is all about.
