Bio

Xenya was born in Moscow Russia in a creative family. Since early age she grew up listening to different music of various genres and styles from classical to rock. She attended concerts and rehearsals of Russian Symphonic orchestra as her father is a musician and her grandmother was a musical theatre singer. Xenya started taking music lessons when she was 16. After graduating from high school she decides to devote herself to music and entered vocal studio based in famous Gnessins college of music. During her studies she was inspired by great teachers and musicians Galina Filatova and Oleg Stepurko among them and started learning jazz. In 2002 she enters Music Faculty of Moscow State Pedagogical University. During these years she meets wonderful musicians and singers who inspires her to create her own music. Later she joins the most successful Moscow based Jam band " Sunlight" and tries herself as songwriter and performer singing in most popular venues in Moscow. Xenya participated in different music festivals and contests. Festival of student Jazz "Festos", "World music in jazz" festival where she became a laureate. In 2007 she receives Master's degree in Vocal pedagogy and performance. Later she starts teaching in music studio" Forte". In 2008 Xenya recorded her first EP album of original songs produced by successful sax player Nikolay Moiseenko.
