Born and raised in the Central Ward section of Newark; one of the most portentous cities in New Jersey; artist Luck Barnes took his first steps at being a rapper. The name "Luck" was given to him by his father who was a reputed henchmen for the late Ellsworth "Bumpy" Johnson. Johnnie Youngblood (Barnes' Father) was a well respected crime figure who also had alliances with Charles Lucciano. Admiring the ways of the Italians, he deemed his son (Barnes) "Lucky". Inspired by hip hop pioneers such as Big Daddy Kane, Nas, and Tupac Shakur; Luck displays versatility, style, grace, and energy through his stage presence and heart-felt lyrics. More of a poet than an artist, Luck uses his lyrics to give a detailed account of his life. With a confidence level that's through the roof, he already seems to be a force to be wreckoned with.
