BIOGRAPHY - M.ERHAN TANMAN Turkish composer and pianist His interest in music has started with the piano lessons that he took from his father. Tanman whose first formal step was TRT child chorus continued his education life in MSGSÜ conservatory as a part time student when he was a child. In his further years of high school and university education he studied composition and piano in the same university. On these years, he studied composition and orchestration with Mehmet Nemutlu,Hasan Uçarsu,Özkan Manav and Ahmet Altinel, advanced counterpoint with Babür Tongur, advanced harmony and fugue with Volkan Barut, and piano with Selen Bucak. Tanman who has given many concerts as pianist, performed his first important concert as composer with his four symphonic orchestrations from R.Schumann’s” Album For The Young” was conducted by Erdem Çöloglu at Italian Culture Centre in 2005. His first important commission was by Sonus Brass Ensemble from Austria and then he composed his music called ‘Misafir’ . Around the same dates, he composed a trio called ‘A Phone Call’ as commissioned by Triage, an Austrian trio. In Turkey, the first performance of his music ‘Misafir’ was conducted by italian flutist and conductor Vieri Bottazzini , on 13th of April 2009. On 15th of December 2009 when he was just 20 years old a concert was arranged on his profile. The first performance of Turkey of his music ‘Ocean’ which was composed for Italian conductor Vieri Bottazzini was held in this concert as well as ‘Misafir’ and ‘A Phone Call’ . Moreover, he had his first experience as a conductor in this concert, too. In March 2009, he composed a solo timpani music called “Sforzati” for percussionist Emil Kuyumcuyan , and its premiere was held in MIAM on 2nd of April 2010. The first European appearance of ‘A Phone Call’ is going to be performed by Austrian trio "Triage" at Germany in September 2010. Nowadays ,Tanman is composing a new symphonic orchestral music called “The Traffic” for Cem Mansur.
