Mutch Katsonga is a vocalist , songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with The Indie Soul Movement . His distinctive high tenor is a vital ingredient in the sound he has cultivated with The Indie Soul Movement . He is the founding member and helmsman of musical outfit The Indie Soul Movement. The Zambian born musician nurtured his passion for music from humble beginnings,making his first tentative steps as a professional songwriter at the age of fifteen writing and performing jingles for a prominent Southern African disc jockey and broadcaster.Always being fascinated by lyrics ,melodies and dexterity as opposed to genres, he was influenced by wide range of musical artists in his formative years, spending hours listening and absorbing the music from his parent's varied record collection. His first forays in performance were as a teenager with like-minded peers from the local church. It was the gritty streets of East London that formed the backdrop for the formation of The Indie Soul Movement in 2003. After a lengthy stint garnering kudos and paying dues on the cut-throat London gig circuit, they began to shop around for recording and distribution deals 2004 saw them sign a distribution deal with Orchard/Turmic Records and their debut EP emerged shortly thereafter. 2006 saw the release of the LP Jagged Edge Frontier. 2007 saw the release of their follow-up LP A Journey To The Sacred Falls. Their Australian produced LP Fragments of a Glowing Cloud appeared in 2009. All Indie Soul Movement recordings are available worldwide through major online retailers including itunes, Rhapsody, Napster,HMV Digital, Sony Connect, Amazon, LimeWire and a host of others. The Indie Soul Movement continue to perform and record in London and Australia and have a rapidly growing worldwide fanbase.
