Bio
Hey guys, thanks for checking out the band, time for the obligatory biography. We started out in July 2008, as four musicians, under a variety of names, from Crimson Militia, PoweRage, and AfterThought. We never really cared for those names...Anyways, fast forward a few months, and with tension mounting between the singer and the instrumentalists, Alex, Carlo and Evan wrote a song one day without the singer there. Refusing to show him the song, and with practices being more about arguments versus music, the singer decided to leave, with Alex taking up the reigns. "Losing Control" was the bands first real song, finalized in November of 2008. While still practicing and writing material, the issue of band names came up. After many considered and rejected ideas, the name Protocol came up. Why did we keep it? It sounds fucking cool. "Fire at Dawn" was next to be written, being our first ever song performed live. after our first show in February, and a positive response, Protocol was starting to go somewhere. They hit Raww Recordings in late march to record "Fire at Dawn", with more positive feedback. Still writing songs and practicing, the band decided to organize a show. Calling the show "Metal up your Ass", they invited other local bands Set To Kill, Ode to the Fallen, and a few others to play with them. The show was a huge success, and it is now becoming a series of shows. Protocol formed a few band friendships, and found some new fans at the show. Since then, Protocol has gone into the studio to record a four-song demo. they found Mat, an awesome sound engineer, and the operator of Mat's Studio, who took them on and pushed them to their potential. the result of this encounter is "Drinkin' in the Mornin'", the band's first CD, with four original tracks on it. Protocol is currently focused on gigging and practicing, so send us a message if you wanna play a show. Keep it Metal ..\m/
