Bio

Gene Strandquist is a multi-talented musician and music teacher in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He has been writing original music for many years and has assembled some of the finest session players in Calgary to create "Food To The Hungry", his debut CD which contains storybook songs in several different styles. It has been said that Gene has a songwriting style similar to that of Bob Dylan and Lennon and McCartney. Gene has gained accolades by being selected for compilation CD's (look for "The Art Of Men" coming out in July 2009), won Broadjam's "February 2009 Song Of The Month" contest, and has had the following said about his work by Sony Producer Brian Steen (on Food To The Hungry) "great Santana vibe to this song... has a cadence to it... a feeling and a rhythm to it... I think everything was well played and sounds good. Congrats and keep up the very good work!!" There are rumours that a second CD is going to be coming out this year.... stay tuned.
